Celebrations!
a successful fete, Spring, Fathers' Day...
Dear Parents
Last Sunday was Father's Day, and as a father of three young children I am only too aware of the role and responsibilities of being a dad. Fathers' Day is a time when the spotlight is on fatherhood and the influence dads can have in the lives of their children.
Here are a few thoughts for dads who doubted their importance to their children. The first is from Ann Landers
When I was:
4 years old, my dad could do anything.
6 years old, my dad is smarter han yours.
14 years old, don't pay attention to my father. He is so old-fashioned.
30 years old, maybe we should askdadwhat he thinks. After all, he's had a lot of experience.
50 years old, I'd give anything if dad were here now so I could talk this over with him.
An English proverb states:
One father is worth more than a hundred schoolmasters
A special thought about fathers:
To the world you might be one person, but to one person, you might just be the world.
And on the lighter side, words from the mouth of an innocentyoung child:
My dad thinks he wears the trousers in our house but it's always Mum who tells him which pair to put on.
HAPPY FATHERS' DAY
Yours in Christ,
Matthew Mann

The recent Jubilee celebrations were a magnificent occasion and will surely live on in people's memories, especially the students.
As usual St Therese's community "turned it on" for the big event with so many people contribution to a very successful three days.
Firstly the students were superb in performance and behaviour. From our Mass with Bishop Joe at 9.00am through to singing Happy Birthday at 3.15pm, the students rose to the occasion and certainly impressed past teachers and parents.
The staff accomplished so much with the students in the 5 weeks lead up. It is testament to their dedication, creativity and hard work. Like all good sporting teams, it was every staff member pitching in on Friday that ensured the day went smoothly (even with the rain). Congratulations to John O'Connor for preparing a spiritually up lifting Mass; to the teachers who, with the students, performed entertaining and informative performances; to Sue Dundas (Bluearth coach) who choreographed and organized our superb synchronized movement performance.
No school community is complete without parental support and involvement. As has been typical of the last 50 years of St Therese's School, it was the parents working in the back ground that guaranteed our Jubilee celebrations were one to remember.
